Job Summary
As a Pastry Cook, you will prepare breads and baked goods according to established resort recipes and standards, assist in developing new bakery items, maintain inventory and cleanliness, and operate various commercial bakery equipment. This role requires expertise gained from completing a culinary or pastry program or through 5 years of industry experience. Proficiency in English and strong verbal communication skills are essential, alongside the ability to engage in physical activities and handle kitchen equipment safely.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of a culinary or pastry program or 5 years of experience in the industry
- The ability to read and speak English fluently
- Possess strong verbal communication skills
- Ability to learn and handle kitchen cutlery efficiently and safely
- Can identify and safely use kitchen equipment and utensils
- Able to retain information as relayed by Supervisor and work without distraction
- Follow kitchen grooming standards to the letter
- Engage in physical activities like standing for long periods, walking, and utilizing hands for tasks that involve gripping, handling, poking, and reaching
- Can safely lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
