Job Summary
The Pastry Assistant supports the Pastry Chef and culinary team in the daily preparation, production, decoration, and presentation of pastry and bakery items, ensuring quality and presentation standards. Responsibilities include preparing ingredients according to recipes, weighing, mixing, shaping, baking, decorating, and finishing pastries; assisting with items for breakfast, buffets, events, banquets, restaurants, room service, and special requests; maintaining cleanliness and organization of the pastry kitchen; following food hygiene and safety procedures; reporting shortages or issues to the Pastry Chef; assisting with inventory control and waste reduction; using kitchen equipment safely; and maintaining professional communication with chefs and team members. Education and training are required, with emphasis on producing consistent pastry products in line with hotel standards, and adhering to uniform and appearance guidelines.
