Job Summary
Prepare, present, store, and oversee production of all baked goods and desserts in the Main Lodge Kitchen, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Provide guests with high-quality service by managing three dessert buffets weekly and five plated dessert menus including breads, cakes, cookies, truffles, ice cream, and special diet requests. Support the bread baking position for Saddle Mountain Restaurant and Albreda Lodge while creating menus for the latter, including recipes and visual aids. Take charge of pastry requirements, maintain cleanliness of work areas, and assist in training employees to perfect dessert offerings. Participate in staff development, provide input for performance appraisals, and communicate problems or ideas to your supervisor. Work 9 hours daily, 5 days per week, with a starting rate of $240 per day.
Required Qualifications
- Food Safe Certification
- WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System)
- Two to three years' experience in a similar position
- Previous supervisory experience
- Ability to frequently bend and kneel
- Ability to lift moderate weight
- Ability to work on feet for an extended period
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to work a variety of day, evening, and weekend shifts
- Energetic personality
- Punctuality
- Good grooming standards
- Manual dexterity to use knives and kitchen appliances
- Ability to transport up to 50 pounds on occasion
- Ability to transport up to 35 pounds regularly
- 100% of the time standing
- Occasional environmental exposures to cold, heat and water
- Exposure to hot temperatures in the kitchen environment
Desired Qualifications
- University or College Diploma in a Culinary field
- Certified Chef designation
