Job Summary
Coordinate the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) program within the parish. Recruit catechists and aides; coordinate registration, class schedules, and parent communication; develop new teaching materials for the four CGS levels; nurture training of catechists; collaborate with the pastor and parish staff; maintain up-to-date knowledge of CGS; participate in staff activities; work a year-round 20-hour weekly schedule with a focus on program planning, implementation, and evaluation. Requires CGS certification, active Catholic parish membership, and flexibility to work days, evenings, and weekends; strong organization and English communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- CGS certification
- A practicing Catholic and active member of a parish in good standing with the Church
- Experience as a catechist and familiarity with CGS methodology and principles preferred
- Flexible schedule (days, evenings, weekends)
- Highly organized
- Able to use time well
- Effective in verbal and written English
