Job Summary
Pastor is responsible for preaching and teaching biblically based sermons, planning and leading worship services, and providing spiritual direction and pastoral care. The role includes leadership of the congregation, engagement with the community, and oversight of sacraments, baptism, profession of faith, and marriage counseling. The pastor will work as the solo pastor, promote spiritual growth, support Christian day-school education, and pursue ordination or maintain ordination eligibility within the CRCNA. Responsibilities also include designing worship experiences that emphasize joy, relevance, and authenticity, and collaborating with church governance (Council) to guide the congregation into a new season of ministry.
Required Qualifications
- Ordination or ordination-eligible as Minister of the Word & Sacrament in CRCNA
- Proven ability to preach and teach biblical sermons
- Leadership, pastoral care, and worship planning skills
- Commitment to church and community engagement
Desired Qualifications
- Meet or exceed the requirements for ordination as a Minister of the Word & Sacrament in the Christian Reformed Church in North America (CRCNA)
- Ordination or ordainable as such
- Effective preaching/teaching of biblical sermons
- Experience in leadership, vision casting, consensus-building, change management
- Pastoral care and spiritual direction
- Worship planning and liturgy leadership
- Commitment to church and community engagement
