Pastor of Teaching and Leadership

Job Summary
Conduct primary weekend teaching, delivering 15 sermons annually with a trajectory toward increased frequency. Collaborate with the Lead Pastor on strategic leadership, series themes, and weekend service planning while innovating new teaching strategies. Serve on the Leadership and Spiritual Oversight Teams to shape the church's growth blueprint and advance the mission. Invest in developing pastoral teaching voices church-wide and bridge the gap between long-time believers and the unchurched. Maintain weekly attendance at a campus, uphold biblical qualifications for an Elder, and demonstrate emotional maturity and strategic leadership aligned with The Crossing's beliefs.
Required Qualifications
- Meets biblical qualifications for an Elder (1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9)
- Deep personal walk with Jesus
- Feel called to reach the lost and unchurched
- If married, spouse is supportive of your calling and has a sense of their own calling into the kingdom and the work of the local church
- Gifted communicator who connects equally with long-term believers and people who've never opened a bible
- Theologically grounded and aligned with The Crossing's beliefs and mission
- Emotionally mature, relationally wise, and pastorally accessible
- Strong, humble leader: Willing to take responsibility, provide direction, and work collaboratively within a team
- Sees beyond the walls of our buildings – excited about reaching people digitally and far beyond St. Louis
- Unity-minded bridge builder and team builder
- Highly strategic, analytical, and rational
- Able to articulate well across multiple areas of ministry and executive functions
- Self-motivated and able to Coach others toward their best
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Emphasis on accuracy, timelines and follow-up
- Strong time management skills
- Attend a service at one of The Crossing campuses on a weekly basis
- Passionate about their relationship with God
- Baptized after making the thoughtful decision to follow Christ
- Regard the Bible as God's final authority in all areas of Christian life and desire to be wholly obedient to it
- Wholeheartedly affirm The Crossing's Statement of Faith, including our view on Baptism
- Live a lifestyle consistent with scriptural principles
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree preferred; equivalent ministry experience considered
- Experience in a multi-site church culture preferred
- Experience preaching 15+ times a year
