Job Summary
Passenger Service & Ramp Agent responsibilities include loading/unloading baggage and aircraft supplies, assisting with aircraft arrivals/departures (marshaling, chocking, ground equipment setup), transporting baggage and cargo between terminals, and providing passenger assistance (wheelchair, gate, boarding). The role requires strong communication, teamwork, and compliance with airport safety/TSA rules, and involves operating ground support equipment, daily safety inspections, and responding to operational changes. The position is based in Columbus, MS with on-site (in-person) work arrangements and a pay rate of $14.50 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 18 years of age or older
- Ability to work in a physically demanding and fast-paced environment
- Must pass pre-employment drug tests
- Must pass pre-employment background check
- Must meet necessary requirements to obtain a security sensitive identification badge
- Must be able to read, write, understand and carry out instructions in English
- Must be able to take verbal direction in English
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 70 pounds regularly
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods
- Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Previous airport, ramp, customer service, warehouse, or logistics experience
- Valid driver’s license may be required
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime
- Exposure to aircraft noise, weather conditions, and moving ground equipment
- Need to adhere to company policies and procedures
