Job Summary
Greet and check in patients at Banner Imaging; verify insurance and exam details; assist with scheduling and patient communications; handle tasks such as burning CDs, processing medical record releases, and collecting co-pays/payments at the time of service. Conduct pre-registration/registration, load correct payer information, obtain consents, verify demographics, and input data accurately to maximize reimbursement and minimize denials. Communicate with patients, families, physicians, and payors; provide financial counseling and assistance navigating Medicaid/financial aid programs; explain policies and available resources; post daily deposits and support the Patient Financial Services team as needed. Maintain productivity and accuracy targets, resolve patient concerns, and support a positive customer experience in a fast-paced environment. May transport patients and assist with various financial services tasks as part of the team.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Knowledge of patient financial services or insurance processes
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Experience with collecting patient payments and basic financial counseling (preferred)
Desired Qualifications
- CHAA certification preferred
- Experience with patient financial services systems
- Experience with Medicaid/financial assistance programs
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Proficiency with office software and PACS knowledge (if listed)
- Tuition reimbursement familiarity is a plus
