Job Summary
Plan, coordinate, and facilitate Michaels store events in-store, including kids' birthday parties and crafting classes, to deliver a fun, engaging experience. Deliver friendly customer service by aiding shoppers, ensuring fast and friendly checkout, and assisting with Omni channel processes (BOPIS, SFS). Execute operational tasks such as truck unload, merchandise duties, planograms, and maintaining store recovery standards. Demonstrate crafts and instruct participants in project completion; perform face painting and activity-based add-ons (goody bags, balloons) per company standards. Communicate with clients and store team members; adjust plans based on feedback; create backup or emergency event plans to ensure client satisfaction. Uphold cleanliness and safety standards, set up and break down events, and participate in daily store cleanliness activities. Cross-trained in Custom Framing sales and production; contribute to a positive, respectful environment and exemplify core company values. Requires energy, enthusiasm, strong people skills, and experience with children’s events; availability for nights, weekends, and early mornings as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Must have experience working with children and children's events
- Must have excellent people skills
- Must have good communication skills including written, verbal, and nonverbal communication as well as listening skills
- Retail and/or customer service experience required
- Ability to stand for long periods and move throughout the store
- Ability to perform setup, break down, and cleanup for events
- Ability to handle multiple events and manage client expectations
