Job Summary

Lead a survey party to determine precise locations, elevations, lines, and areas for final survey products by organizing crew manpower, managing daily field tasks, and ensuring adherence to company and industry standards. Conduct daily data collector downloads, prepare time sheets and expense reports, and mentor Rod Persons and Instrument Techs on assigned duties. Drive vehicles to and from job sites while maintaining safety protocols and communicating with the Field Supervisor and Project Manager. Requires three years of Party Chief experience, valid driver's license, and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions from Monday through Saturday.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience working as a Party Chief
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Must be able to work in an outdoor environment and be subject to weather conditions (hot and cold temperatures, rain)
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to hike up and down steep slopes carrying up to 50 pounds of survey equipment
  • Must be able to bend, squat, dig monument holes, pound in stakes and rebar monuments
  • Must be able to carry and use brush cutting equipment
  • Must be able to drive a four-wheeler or snowmobile
  • Must be able to climb stairs
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to work at a computer terminal for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to type/key-in data
  • Must be able to answer telephones frequently as needed
  • Must be able to concentrate
  • Must be able to conceptualize
  • Must be able to cooperate with others/teamwork
  • Must be able to perform detailed work
  • Must be able to handle frequent task changes
  • Must be able to learn new tasks
  • Must be able to work in an interruptive/distractive environment

  • Solid documentation skills (field notes and sketches)
