Job Summary
Party Chief Surveyor responsible for the overall management of the survey crew on new construction sites, reporting to the Project Manager and Construction Manager, serving as client liaison, ensuring crew and equipment safety, and handling data computations and field notes. Responsibilities include leading topographic surveys and construction stakeouts, reading engineering drawings, understanding measurement errors, monumentation and staking principles, maintaining equipment, submitting daily data/notes, meeting with clients and landowners professionally, and enforcing safety standards. Requires 5 years as a Party Chief on a new construction site and 1+ year of supervisory experience, with strong leadership and communication skills and the ability to train in Matrix Service Safety, Process Safety Management, and site-specific procedures; must pass background check and drug testing; able to work up to 12 hours days outdoors with PPE as required.
Required Qualifications
- 5 years working as a Party Chief Surveyor on a new construction site
- 1+ year’s supervisory experience
- Proficient in managing crew, time, and costs
- Good leadership and communication skills
- Good understanding of Matrix Service policies and procedures
- Ability to complete Matrix Service Safety training, Process Safety Management training and Client / Site specific training
- Must obtain and maintain active status within the required drug testing program
- Must Pass a Background Check
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, sit and lift; able to lift up to 50lbs; endure long work days (up to 12 hours) in various weather conditions
- Must be able to hear, speak, understand and communicate effectively
- Ability to use arms/hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull objects and tools
- Willingness to wear PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, ear protection, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves, steel-toe boots)
- Must be able to work outdoors in heat/cold/rain/snow/wind
