Job Summary
Coordinate and host in-store events and children's birthday parties at Michaels in Novi, MI. Deliver friendly customer service by helping guests shop and find products; ensure fast and friendly checkout experiences. Plan, coordinate, and execute multiple events (craft classes, birthday parties) with activities like face painting and craft instructions; manage event add-ons (goody bags, balloons) and communicate plans with clients and store team. Set up, run, and break down events while maintaining safety and store standards. Interact with guests of all ages (4 to 94+), provide solutions, enroll customers in Rewards and Private Label Credit Cards, and educate on Voice of Customer surveys. Participate in omni-channel processes (Buy Online Pickup in Store, Ship From Store) and assist with stock, planograms, and merchandising duties. Cross-train in Custom Framing selling and production, support store cleanliness and SOP adherence, and contribute to a positive, inclusive store environment. Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and early mornings as part of a public retail setting.
Required Qualifications
- Must have experience working with children and children's events
- Excellent people skills
- Must have good communication skills (written, verbal, and nonverbal)
- Must have organizational and creative problem-solving skills
- Retail and/or customer service experience required
