Job Summary
Plan, coordinate, and facilitate events within a Michaels store in Rehoboth Beach, DE, including kids’ birthday parties and craft classes. Deliver friendly customer service by helping customers shop and ensuring fast, friendly checkout. Perform operational tasks (truck unload, merchandise duties, store recovery) to uphold Brand Promises. Coordinate multiple events simultaneously, engage guests of all ages, demonstrate and instruct craft projects, and perform activities such as face painting. Manage party add-ons (goody bags, balloons), communicate events with clients and store team, handle administrative tasks (emails, calls, paperwork), adjust plans based on feedback, and create backup/emergency plans. Ensure client satisfaction, maintain cleanliness and safety standards, set up and break down events, and participate in omni-channel processes (BOPIS, SFS). Cross-trained in Custom Framing and support daily store operations, including inventory and SOP adherence. Maintain a positive, professional demeanor with customers and team members and contribute to a welcoming, creative environment.
Required Qualifications
- Retail and/or customer service experience required
- Must have excellent people skills
- Must have experience working with children and children’s events
- Must have good communication skills including written, verbal, and nonverbal communication as well as listening skills
- Must have organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and creative problem-solving skills
