Job Summary
Plan, coordinate, and facilitate in-store events at Michaels, including children’s birthday parties and craft classes, while delivering friendly customer service and a fast, checkout experience. Responsibilities include greeting and engaging guests of all ages, demonstrating and instructing craft projects, performing face painting and other activities, coordinating event logistics (backup plans, add-ons like goody bags and balloons), communicating with clients and store teammates, handling administrative tasks (emails, calls, paperwork), supporting omni-channel processes (BOPIS, SFS), stocking and planogram duties, ensuring store cleanliness and safety, and upholding company standards. Requires energetic, enthusiastic personality with excellent people skills, ability to work with children, strong communication, organizational and problem-solving abilities, and experience in retail/customer service; flexibility to work nights, weekends, and early mornings in a public retail environment.
Required Qualifications
- Must have experience working with children and children’s events
- Must have good communication skills including written, verbal, and nonverbal communication as well as listening skills
- Must have excellent people skills
- Retail and/or customer service experience required
- Physical ability to remain standing for long periods and move around store
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and early mornings
