Job Summary
Sells parts to retail and shop guests over the counter, by phone, or through the shop while assisting customers in selecting required items and explaining companion part requirements. Answers inquiries to provide price quotes, reviews body shop estimates to verify part accuracy and pricing alignment, and pulls or fills orders from stock. Notifies the manager of out-of-stock items, locates missing parts from external sources for emergency orders, and stocks incoming orders. Replenishes assigned inventory daily, processes stock orders, and assists with annual physical inventory. Follows up on back-ordered parts, verifies will-call and back-order files, and sets up orders for daily shipment or pick-up. Receives payment from retail customers or obtains credit authorization and solicits assigned accounts by phone.
Required Qualifications
- Previous dealership Parts Counterperson or similar experience
- High school diploma or General Education degree (GED)
- 2+ years of related experience and/or training
- English language required
- Valid Driver's License
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization
- Must be able to pass pre-employment screening (background and drug)
- Must be at least eighteen years of age
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Frequently lift and/or move more than 50 pounds
