Job Summary
Inspect shipments at loading and unloading for damage and quantity, stock parts in correct bins, and verify part numbers against packing slips. Check in UPS, GM, and general merchandise parts daily, count deliveries, and sign for them. Package and ship return items to vendors, write up core returns, damage claims, and shortage claims, and assign new parts to bins without assigned locations. Assist drivers in loading and unloading parts trucks, operate forklifts for item movement, and maintain bins, racks, and equipment. Secure the building at close, keep the parts area clean, and perform annual parts inventory and returns.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Valid Driver's License
- Hazardous material handling certification
- Fork lift operator certification
- 1+ year tenure at previous employers working in warehouse/returns
- Experience with working in returns
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds
- Must be able to climb or balance
