Job Summary
Accept parts orders, process warranty returns, and build hoses for clients while maintaining accurate records and quotations. Acknowledge clients professionally, process unusual and complex orders, and handle after-hours parts calls and credit returns. Locate and price parts, pick, pack, and ship orders, and operate the Parts Will Call and computer terminal. Assist the Parts and Service Sales Representative with questions, provide sales leads, and stay current on Service Letter updates and product knowledge. Work safely at all times while adhering to all company policies and standards.
Required Qualifications
- Proof of high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- Minimum 1 years' experience in Parts Sales or a similar industry
- Completion of Caterpillar's Parts Pro or similar industry related training
- Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English
- Must have interpersonal skills sufficient to assist clients and employees in a professional manner
- Knowledge of Caterpillar and/or Allied Parts reference sources
- Sales techniques sufficient for recommending additional parts needed
- Knowledge of Caterpillar and/or Allied parts, client operations, client transportation methods and Parts Department procedures and policies relating to Parts Sales Orders and Credit Memos
- Knowledge of Parts Exchange components, Caterpillar and Allied product lines and applications, and parts related work areas and their functions
- Demonstrated proficiency in using DBS, SIS, Antares, and other computer programs in the performance of the job
- Proficient in Cash and Credit Report/Cash Settlement
- Knowledge of Parts Expediting, Service Letter updates and cores for Warranty
- General Microsoft Office skills
- Must be able to meet all safety requirements for applicable safety policies and use of all required safety equipment
- Must have acceptable attendance to meet all company standards and requirements
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 60 pounds
- Close vision
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in all Parts Department areas preferred
