Parts Sales Representative

Receive orders by telephone, mail, and in person from walk-in customers while initiating calls to solicit orders and verify marketing information. Promote aggressive and suggestive selling using product knowledge, personal selling skills, over-the-counter contact, telemarketing, and direct mail to actively seek additional sales opportunities. Process customer orders the same day received, preparing sales orders with specified terms and delivery details while complying with credit policies. Handle customer credits accurately, record lost sales opportunities, and ensure all call-back requests are completed to satisfaction. Utilize Caterpillar Microfiche files, SIS, and numerical Parts Records to track back-orders closely, notify customers upon receipt, and work with the order analyst to expedite delivery. Report machinery sales leads and competitive machine activities to the Sales Department. High school graduate with two years related work experience required; keyboard literate to utilize the mainframe system.
