Job Summary
Visit assigned customers and prospect for new customers as the Parts Outside Sales representative for Peterbilt of Atlanta and related locations. Act as a public relations liaison for the dealership and follow up on parts orders to ensure customers are served properly. Communicate parts orders to parts advisors, advise on stock vs. emergency status, and coordinate delivery instructions including same-day requests. Verify delivery dates with customers for non-stock items, turn in call reports and time sheets, review special orders with the Outside Sales Manager, obtain approval for special pricing, attend training seminars, and coordinate service sales with service salespeople. Requires high school diploma or equivalent, ability to read/write, strong customer communication, knowledge of truck parts, ability to operate the dealership’s parts inventory system, and a valid driver’s license with DOT Driver Medical certification.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information
- Ability to communicate well orally and in writing with customers, vendors, and other contacts
- Professional personal appearance and dress
- Knowledge of truck parts
- Must be able to judge when emergency purchases are justified; coordinate orders with parts advisors
- Valid driver’s license and driving record meeting company criteria
- DOT Driver Medical certification
