Job Summary
Manage incoming and outgoing shipments and oversee workers engaged in lifting, transporting, storing, and loading materials using conveyors, cranes, hoists, or industrial trucks. Maintain inventory accuracy, define performance metrics with weekly reporting, and monitor material handling equipment for defects to ensure production and quality specifications are met. Store and retrieve material handling data using computer systems, count and record units moved on daily production sheets, and interface with other departments to ensure deadlines are met. Recommend measures to improve spare parts handling, delivery methods, and equipment performance to increase shop efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years' experience in warehouse management, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to develop material handling processes (kitting, milk runs, etc.) based upon lean principles
- Basic computer skills including Word Processing, Internet, Email, Spreadsheets, Software Concepts, Hardware, Presentations, Graphics, etc.
