Job Summary
Supervise staff, ensuring proper training, adherence to policies, and a safe work environment while managing warehouse operations from receiving shipments to shipping out goods. Monitor stock records by reviewing daily cycle counts, monthly interfaces, and annual audits, then coordinate purchasing and warehousing activities with other divisions and external agencies. Evaluate new vendor services, solicit quotes, and research prices for materials, while providing staff support to senior management and preparing reports for committees. Some evening and weekend work is required. This role supports the City of Fort Worth Water Department's Plant Operations Division in serving over one million residents.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in business administration, purchasing, accounting or related field
- Four (4) years of responsible purchasing, materials management, or inventory control experience
- One (1) year of administrative and/or lead supervisory experience
- Must pass Drug Screen, Physical
- Valid Texas driver's license
- As assigned, possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate forklift certificate
- Some evening/weekend work required
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of Municipality purchasing policies and procedures
- Experience with Asset Management Systems
- Experience PeopleSoft/ EPR Financial Supply Chain Management
