Job Summary
Directs the day-to-day operations of the Branch Parts Department and leads development and execution of a sales/marketing plan to meet department sales and profit targets. Responsible for budgeting, inventory control, vendor negotiations, and building relationships with outside representatives and suppliers. Grows the parts business by analyzing sales trends, optimizing warehouse space, and ensuring effective communication across branches. Hires, trains, and evaluates parts staff, maintains knowledge of the retail and wholesale truck parts market, and ensures adherence to company goals and policies. Requires strong organizational, analytical, and leadership skills, plus experience in supervisory roles and customer service in a dealership environment.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree (AA) in a technical field or comparable work experience
- 3-5 years of heavy duty parts sales or related experience with supervisory experience preferred
- Management skills to include strategic plan development, decision making abilities and program implementation
- Ability to display extensive product knowledge to customer and staff to assist with purchase decisions
- Supervisory skills in coaching, training and motivating subordinates to reach established department goals
- Must be highly organized, detail-oriented and results-driven
- Ability to prioritize and handle numerous tasks simultaneously
- Ability to work well under pressure while assisting a wide variety of customers (both internal and external) and fostering relationships with key industry contacts
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Computer, mathematical and customer service skills
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, kneel, stoop and lift/move up to 75 lbs. on a regular basis
- Ability to work in a dealership environment to include 8 - 12 hour days with frequent exposure to weather elements
