Parts Inspector I - 2nd shift

Job Summary
Parts Inspector I performs dimensional and visual inspection of in-process and completed machine parts and assemblies, often to tolerances of .0001 or more, using micrometers, calipers, CMM, and other inspection tools. The role interprets engineering drawings and specifications, records inspection results and paperwork, and communicates non-conforming conditions to engineers for corrective action. The position supports improvement activities, provides guidance to lower-level inspectors, and works on 2nd shift in Middletown, CT, with benefits including healthcare and 401k.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1-3 years of experience as a Quality Inspector or related manufacturing experience
- Proficiency with shop mathematics
- Ability to read blueprints and understand specifications
- Experience with AS9100, ISO9001, or similar highly regulated standards
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)
- Basic understanding of GD&T (true position, perpendicular, parallelism, flatness)
- Basic Knowledge of CMM
- Detail drawing interpretation
- Familiar with FAI requirements
- Familiar with JSTD-001 requirements
- Shift: 2nd Shift 2:45-11:15p
- Quality assurance/quality control experience in manufacturing
