Job Summary
Check cars in, review repair orders, and write prioritized parts and labor estimates to ensure technicians receive accurate job details. Source and order quality parts while balancing cost, quality, and turnaround time, then manage inventory, track cores, and handle special order parts. Communicate clearly with service advisors and technicians regarding parts status and ETAs to keep work flowing. Review car history to verify time and mileage recommendations, ensuring labor times are correct and authorized. Maintain organized inventory levels and perform regular counts and adjustments while building strong vendor relationships.
Required Qualifications
- knowledgeable about vehicles
- worked in a professional repair shop
- efficiently write repair estimates (parts and labor)
- prioritize the repairs the car needs by looking at the cars inspection report
- make sense of technician jargon
- knows what parts will all be involved with replacing most aspects of the cars
- good time manager
- decipher the car's history when pricing out time and mileage recommendations
- help get cars checked in when they are dropped off
- make sure all labor jobs are correct and authorized
