Parts Counterperson

Job Summary
Oversee the parts sales process from start to finish; communicate with customer on parts status and with staff and customers in a friendly and professional manner; read and understand parts catalogs; provide price quotes and information; review body shop estimates for accuracy of parts and pricing; deliver high-level service to internal and external customers; pull and fill orders from stock; maintain stock accuracy with weekly bin checks; notify parts manager of out-of-stock items; locate out-of-stock parts from external sources for emergency orders; ensure internal requests for parts are billed correctly; handle payments from retail customers or obtain credit authorization; set up orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pick-up.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience with auto parts sales (preferred)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
