Job Summary
As a Parts Counterman, greet customers and determine their parts needs; lookup, locate, and order parts from suppliers; maintain accurate inventory records and ensure adequate stock; deliver exceptional customer service by answering questions and assisting with parts selection; process parts orders and payments accurately and efficiently; collaborate with service and sales to ensure timely delivery of parts; keep the parts department clean and organized; stay up-to-date on new products and technologies in the automotive industry; assist in creating special promotions and displays to attract customers; follow all safety guidelines and company policies.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience as a Parts Counterman or in a related field preferred
- Strong knowledge of automotive parts, including part numbers, functions, and compatibility
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Proficient in using computer systems and software, including Excel and inventory management systems
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
