Job Summary
Identify needed parts using catalogs and computer systems, then bill orders and update inventory controls. Distribute special and warranty parts while maintaining shelf stock and ensuring technicians receive correct items timely. Order parts from vendors, fill customer orders from stock, and ship according to DOT guidelines. Track lost sales, study new product bulletins, prepare invoices, and obtain credit authorization. Advise customers on substitutions, pick up and deliver parts, examine returned merchandise, and mark defective items with full details. Notify the Parts Manager of inventory discrepancies, maintain a clean department, assist with annual physical inventory, and control expenses to increase profitability.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends
- Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm
- Saturday 8:00am - 12:00pm
Desired Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in Parts Department operations
- Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions
- Ability to write and speak effectively to individuals and groups
- Excellent customer service skills
