Parts Counter Specialist

Job Summary
Identify needed parts using catalogs and computer systems, then fill customer orders from stock while ensuring technicians receive correct components timely. Order and receive parts from vendors, process invoices, and manage credit authorizations. Handle warranty returns, examine defective merchandise, and tag items with required details for warranty bins. Maintain shelf stock, track lost sales, and notify management of inventory discrepancies. Deliver parts to customers and vendors as needed, adhering to DOT guidelines. Stay current on product bulletins and attend training to support department profitability.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Drivers License
- Forklift Certification
- Parts counter experience
- One-year certificate from a college or technical school; or three to six years related experience and/or training
- Organization and communication skills must be highly developed
- Computer skills need to be broad based
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, statistics, and geometry
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
