Job Summary
Assist customers in selecting required parts, inform them of companion part requirements, and answer phone calls for price quotes. Determine freight charges, review body shop estimates for accuracy, and pull or fill orders from stock. Notify the manager of out-of-stock items, locate parts from outside sources, and submit emergency orders when necessary. Replenish inventory daily, track back-ordered parts, and verify will-call files weekly. Keep counter areas clean, maintain professional appearance, and participate in all training programs to stay current on product updates.
Required Qualifications
- Two to four years related experience and/or training
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
