Job Summary
Conduct customer service for heavy-duty truck parts by identifying make, year, and type of parts needed, inspecting worn or defective items, and discussing features while reading catalogs and inventory systems. Fulfill walk-in and telephone orders from stock, locate unavailable parts, and advise on substitutions, modifications, or vendor options. Process sales slips and contracts, examine returned parts for defects, and exchange or refund money. Maintain department cleanliness, empty waste baskets, stock shelves, perform cycle counting, and ensure walkways remain free of safety hazards. Complete PACCAR training workbooks and take regular inventory of stock.
Required Qualifications
- 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Possession of a valid driver's license
- Clean DMV record
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of Inventory software and Order processing systems
- Basic use of Outlook, Word & Excel
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
- Ability to add, subtract, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
- Ability to frequently stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear and taste or smell
- Ability to occasionally sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
