Job Summary
Lead the Manchester Crime & Regulatory team by taking ownership of a varied caseload spanning inquests, professional discipline, health and safety, entity regulation, and business crime. Drive strategy, direction, and profitability while strengthening relationships with internal insurer partners, brokers, and corporate stakeholders. Oversee governance, compliance, supplier relationships, and quality assurance to maintain exceptional client care standards. Mentor junior team members and shape the future of the practice within a close-knit, commercially ambitious environment. This role offers full autonomy to innovate and grow the practice, supported by a Fortune 500 parent company and significant investment in brand-building and practice expansion.
Required Qualifications
- Senior Crime or Regulatory lawyer
- Strong technical depth in at least two core areas: inquests, H&S, professional discipline, environmental regulation, licensing, or business crime
- Experience managing insurer and legal expense insurance relationships (or strong familiarity with referral‐based practice)
- A proven track record of client management, business development and team leadership
- Commercial instinct — the ability to balance quality with profitability and strategic growth
- Excellent communication, calm under pressure and a commitment to exceptional client care
