Job Summary
Monitor assigned classrooms for compliance with Head Start Performance Standards, State licensing regulations, and current education policies using approved assessment tools and checklists. Coach and mentor classroom staff by observing activities, providing on-the-job guidance, and delivering technical assistance to improve child outcomes and teacher interactions. Collaborate with Center Directors and Partnership Coordinators to analyze education data, recommend training on curriculum and assessments, and facilitate professional development sessions. Prepare reports, communicate results to teachers and management, and participate in planning and committee activities. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, three years of ECE experience, and a Site Supervisor Level Permit. Bilingual ability is highly desirable.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or a closely related field including a minimum of thirty-two (32) ECE units
- Three (3) years of work and/or teaching experience in an Early Childhood Education program setting including experience with CA State and Federal regulations related to Early Childhood Education that includes a minimum of one (1) year of experience utilizing mentoring and coaching principles and reflective practices with adult learners in a professional early childhood education program setting
- Site Supervisor Level Permit or obtain within six months of hire
- Acquire CLASS Certifications within nine (9) months of hire and maintain certifications throughout employment
- Must have a physical examination, TB clearance and a drug screen by a doctor/clinic designated by MAAC as well as immunization records for influenza, pertussis and measles as required by state and federal regulations prior to the first day of employment
- Must have and maintain a valid California Driver's License, daily use of a personal, insured vehicle, and have and maintain a motor vehicle driving record acceptable to MAAC's insurance carrier
- Must have or obtain a current criminal background check clearance, signed criminal record statement, and signed Acknowledgement to Report Child Abuse form prior to the first day of employment
