Job Summary
Lead Security Engineering role responsible for owning AppSec and CloudSec across AWS and GCP, including the roadmap and tooling stack, and partnering with engineering to embed security into product development and AI tooling. You’ll work hands-on with code reviews, threat modeling, architecture discussions, and cross-functional initiatives, reporting to the Head of Cybersecurity and collaborating with ASG, the CTO, and IT. This role requires an in-office presence 2 days a week in San Francisco and focuses on defending the firm, LPs, and portfolio companies against sophisticated threats while shaping security strategy for AI work and enterprise/cloud security.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of security engineering experience or equivalent demonstrated impact
- Track record of leading cross-functional projects and managing senior stakeholders
- Experience leading or significantly contributing to small teams (3 to 5 people)
- Comfortable running code reviews, threat models, and architecture discussions yourself
- Strong working knowledge of modern cloud and SDLC tooling (Terraform, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions, SAST, SCA, secrets scanning)
- AI security knowledge, including model risk, prompt injection, and agent governance
- Experience translating technical security concepts, decisions, and trade-offs into terms non-technical audiences across the firm can act on
- Low ego, high empathy, and the capacity to collaborate effectively with diverse teams
