Job Summary
Safely operate, monitor, and adjust assigned production equipment while performing machine startups, shutdowns, setups, and product changeovers. Monitor production processes and equipment parameters to ensure quality and efficiency, conducting required product quality checks and identifying nonconforming material. Troubleshoot basic equipment issues, ensure areas are supplied with correct materials per schedule, and complete production, quality, and downtime documentation. Follow all safety standards, PPE, and Lockout/Tagout guidelines while maintaining clean work areas per 5S standards. Collaborate with team members and communicate during shift handovers with Production, Maintenance, Quality, and Logistics. This role supports continuous improvement efforts related to safety, quality, cost, productivity, and waste within EGGER North America's Particleboard department.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Basic mechanical, computer, and mathematical skills
- Ability to read and follow production orders, specifications, and work instructions
- Ability to work efficiently and manage time effectively
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Basic critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve equipment or production issues while maintaining safety, quality, and productivity standards
- Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
Desired Qualifications
- Previous manufacturing or machine operation experience
- The ability to effectively and safely use power tools
