Job Summary
Youth Worker to provide life skills training and individualized support to young people experiencing homelessness, working with a team to meet case plans and promote independence. Responsibilities include delivering contextual centre-based and living skills programs, ensuring safety and safeguarding, building rapport with young people, coordinating with external agencies, and contributing to a supportive, trauma-informed, client-centred environment. Requires ACT Working with Vulnerable People Certification, a current ACT Driver License, Senior First Aid Certification, and Certificate IV (or higher) in Youth Work/Social Work or related field; must have computer skills (MS Office, database programs). Flexible, part-time role based in Chisholm, ACT with a 4-week roster and SHADS Level 3 pay scale.
Required Qualifications
- ACT Working with Vulnerable People Certification
- Current ACT Driver License
- Current Senior First Aid Certification
- Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV level) in Youth Work, Social Work or related field
- Computer skills – Microsoft Office and ability to quickly learn database programs
- Experience in youth work or within a Specialist Homelessness Service
- Demonstrated ability to engage diverse young people and promote Salvation Army values
