Job Summary
Supervise and interact with residents at all times while documenting concerns and communicating feedback to Case Managers and Team Leaders. Promote health development, behavior management, and individual success by engaging residents in daily activities and building positive relationships that support their goals. Transport residents to community activities and medical appointments as assigned, while modeling positive interactions between residents and staff. Adhere to shelter policies and attend required trainings on child and adolescent development principles. Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with peers, volunteers, and supervisors.
Required Qualifications
- Twenty-one years of age or older
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Physical stamina and agility
- Physical ability to use authorized techniques for management of aggressive behaviors
- Must pass all criminal history, child maltreatment and background checks
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening
- Valid driver's license
- Proof of personal automobile insurance
- Acceptable driving record
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with children in crisis
- Experience exercising Trust Based Relational Intervention and Conscious Discipline
- Relevant college courses or college degree (e.g., Education, Social Work, Human Services, etc)
