Job Summary
Deliver compassionate, person-centered support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential setting, promoting meaningful community integration and fostering skill development. Provide personalized physical and emotional assistance, including mobility transfers, personal care, and meal preparation, while ensuring a safe, clean, and dignified home environment. Administer prescribed medications, document care logs and incident reports, and support individuals with medical appointments and adaptive device usage. Maintain regulatory compliance through accurate documentation and adherence to safety protocols, while building a positive work culture through professional communication and advocacy.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- Reliable, licensed, and insured vehicle
- Ability to satisfactorily complete mandatory (paid) training courses, including (but not limited to) CPR/First Aid, Medication Administration (Med Aide), and Universal Precautions to include CPR/First Aid and Level 1 Med-Aide
- Ability and strength to position/lift/transfer greater than 50 lbs. (an adult human being) regularly, including the ability to safely assist an adult human being to the ground to perform CPR
- Continuous ability to kneel on hard or other surfaces for extended periods, as per requirements of performing CPR
- Continuous ability to push and pull 100-125 lbs. of pressure consistently over extended periods as per requirements of performing CPR, as defined by the American Heart Association
- Ability to document electronically in proprietary systems
