Job Summary
Operates and maintains wastewater treatment systems in the assigned area, including servicing pumps, motors, valves, generators, and equipment; maintains pump and lift stations; collects samples, performs laboratory testing, and manages data entry and reporting. Ensures work is completed within deadlines and compliant with federal/state safety regulations; analyzes pump equipment, troubleshoots malfunctions, and monitors water operations; performs preventive maintenance and minor repairs; and conducts general grounds and landscape maintenance as part of site responsibilities. ADEQ Grade II Wastewater Certification is required, with prior or current wastewater operator experience, and the ability to work weekends, overtime, and on-call shifts. Must possess a valid driver’s license and ability to read, write, compile, and analyze data and reports, while monitoring control panels, gauges, and meters to guarantee proper plant operation.
Required Qualifications
- ADEM Grade II Wastewater CERTIFICATION REQUIRED
- High school diploma or GED
- Prior or current wastewater operator experience
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Records required
- Experience within a water treatment environment
- Ability to work independently
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Requires the ability to read, write, compile, and analyze data and reports daily
- Ability to monitor control panels, gauges, and meters to ensure proper plant operation
- Must be available to work weekends, overtime and ‘on-call’ as needed
