Job Summary
Oversee athletic training and strength and conditioning workouts while providing technical support and instruction to varsity tackle football players. Mentor student-athletes in sportsmanship and fair play, monitor conduct during practices and games, and ensure a safe environment by inspecting equipment and playing areas before each session. Prevent injuries through balanced workouts, implement training programs for the Athletic Development Program, and manage athlete registration and evaluations. Attend mandatory coaches' meetings, rules interpretation sessions, and travel to regional and state competitions within California.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
- Valid CPR/AED/First Aid Certification (American Red Cross/American Heart Association)
- Football experience
- General knowledge of best practices in interscholastic athletics and football, specifically
- Able to work in a dynamic environment, dealing with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines, and a varied and diverse array of contacts
- Works in outside weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold
- Tasks involve the ability to exert heavy physical effort, including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling moderately heavy objects and materials weighing 20-50 pounds
- Light travel between the MS and US campuses
- Travel to and from competitions in the Bay Area, and potential overnight travel for regional and state competitions within California (if the team qualifies)
Desired Qualifications
- Three years of minimum related experience is preferred
