Job Summary
Read gas meters for residential and commercial consumers to ensure accurate consumption and billing, performing visual inspections to note visible defects or issues. Walk up to 15 miles daily while maintaining accurate readings. Work independently on a day shift schedule with little supervision, transitioning to a piece-work basis after completing paid training. This role requires a valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and clean criminal and driving records. Based in Mackenzie, BC, you will be provided with safety gear including boots and vests. Olameter serves over 300 utility companies across North America.
Required Qualifications
- Applicants need to be at least 18 years of age
- hold a valid driver's license
- have a reliable vehicle
- have a clean criminal and driving record
- Must be located in the Mackenzie, BC area
- Must successfully pass pre-employment screenings: background check and driving record
- Must have access to your own reliable vehicle
- Must be able to walk up to 10-15 miles per day while reading meters accurately
- Successfully complete the company's training program and pass applicable written and field tests
- Learn and apply safety measure relating to motor vehicle operation and other field related matters
