Job Summary
Monitor activity at post assignments, including TV monitor stations, and check incoming/outgoing personnel for proper identification. Lock/unlock doors, control lighting, and respond to door alarms while patrolling buildings and grounds to ensure safety. Provide information and assistance to staff, visitors, and customers, and write daily logs of activity and incidents. Activate emergency procedures for fire, utility failures, or disaster calls, using judgment to independently handle security situations or contact police. Work rotating or assigned shifts, including overnights, with a minimum of 20 hours weekly. Maintain a clean, professional appearance and drug-free status.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Illinois Driver's License and/or State ID
- Reliable means of communication such as a phone and/or e-mail
- Permanent Employee Registration Card (PERC)
- Ability to write daily logs and reports
- Clean, professional appearance
- Clean drug screening
- Background check
- Friendly and professional demeanor
- Quality customer service
- Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend English fluently
- Must be physically fit to perform the duties of the position
- Must be able to work a minimum of 20 hours a week
- Must be able to work rotating or assigned shifts
- Must not have criminal convictions that include but are not limited to: conditional discharges, court supervisions, or driving intoxicated (DWI)
