Job Summary
Provide customer service and process business and individual banking transactions, including receiving cash and checks, verifying amounts, and examining currency for counterfeit bills. Manage the cash drawer by trial balancing throughout the day and rolling it at close of shift while reporting discrepancies. Enter transactions into the computer system, issue receipts, and assist with ATM operations. Cross-sell banking services through needs-based questioning and refer products to business partners. Serve as a relief or backup teller at other Midland States Bank locations and participate in weekly huddles and coaching sessions. Maintain compliance with regulations such as the Bank Secrecy Act and demonstrate core values supporting the bank's culture.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift and transport coin and currency bags as required (bags may weigh between 25lbs and 50lbs)
- Institutional knowledge of banking
- Understanding basic knowledge of deposit and lending products & services
- Able to identify correct product types through needs-based questioning
- Consistently demonstrates knowledge of bank products and services
- Timely completion of all assigned learning activities
- Actively participate in weekly huddles and one on one coaching sessions
- Demonstrates and models Midland States Bank core values that support the bank's culture
- Participate in bank sponsored community activities
- Occasional travel for training and team meetings
- Willingness to travel periodically, to locations within market as needed
- Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)
