Job Summary
Part-time Technology Trainer for Older Adults to deliver OATS curriculum and provide technology support to seniors in Montgomery County, MD. Responsibilities include teaching in-person technology courses, creating a supportive learning environment, offering personalized caller support, outbound outreach to Senior Planet members, coordinating with site staff, submitting paperwork, collecting surveys, entering data into Salesforce, participating in trainer meetings, recruiting participants as needed, and contributing to special projects. Must communicate effectively in English with bilingual capability in Mandarin or Spanish, have proficiency with Windows and iOS, familiarity with social media, and a passion for digital literacy for older adults. Travel to senior/community centers as required; training emphasizes patience, creativity, dependability, problem-solving, humor, and social change. Experience in teaching and ability to work with older adults is essential. This role sits in Montgomery County, MD (Rockville, Silver Spring, Gaithersburg). Required Qualifications
- Excellent speaking and communication skills
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly in English, English and Mandarin OR English and Spanish
- Experience teaching teenagers, adults, and/or seniors, preferable
- Proficiency with Windows computers, iOS, popular social media sites, and other common technologies/devices
- Comfortable traveling to various senior/community centers as needed, when/if safe to do so
- Ability to work independently and as part of a training team
- Superior time-management skills
- Flexibility, patience, and a sense of humor
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a professional work setting
