Job Summary
Provide care for a group of children as part of a teaching team, ranging from infant to Pre-K classrooms. Maintain a safe and healthy environment by promoting healthy eating practices, ensuring active supervision policies are followed, and performing appropriate hand washing and sanitizing procedures. Assist in keeping rooms and areas neat and clean while implementing planned activities and engaging children in learning experiences both indoors and outdoors. Greet children upon arrival and departure, show affection daily, and encourage independence in self-care and decision-making. Support social and emotional development through hands-on activities, positive guidance techniques, and helping children work out problems by expressing feelings appropriately. Greet parents and visitors with a friendly manner to encourage participation in the program.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED
- 2 or more years of Early Childhood Education experience
- Child Development Associate (CDA)
- Technical Certificate of Credit (TCC)
- Technical College Diploma (TCD)
- Associate degree
- 60 or more total hours toward Bachelor's
- Completed BA/BS
- Background check
- Fingerprinting
- Drug test
- Ability to pass a hearing test
- Ability to lift and carry children and equipment, 30lbs unassisted and 50lbs with assistance
- Capability to sit on the floor and stand up independently to interact with children
- Ability to use arms and legs and moving their whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials
- Ability to learn/use technology
- Proficient knowledge in Child development and early education theories and practices
- Proficient knowledge in Safe and appropriate activities for children
- Proficient knowledge in Relevant policies and procedures to ensure that children are supervised and safe at all times

Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED with 2 or more years of Early Childhood Education experience preferred
- CDA enroll within 12 mos. of hire

- Completed BA/BS
