Part-Time Swim Team Coach

Job Summary
Conduct swim practices focusing on technique, endurance, and speed training while providing one-on-one coaching to improve specific skills. Assist with swim meets by managing warm-ups, race strategy, and post-race feedback. Mentor youth athletes as a positive role model to foster skill development, confidence, and an inclusive team environment. Develop comprehensive swim mechanics for various skill levels and ages. Ensure safety and well-being through adherence to protocols, regular training drills, and enforcing team rules. Communicate with parents regarding progress and events, resolve conflicts diplomatically, and handle scheduling and record-keeping. Requires lifeguarding, CPR, and First Aid certification; flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Have a background in the sport of swimming and/or other athletics
- Excellent verbal communication skills for effectively teaching and motivating young athletes
- A high level of patience and the ability to work with children of varying skill levels
- Ability to work well with the coaches, other assistants, and support staff, and adhere to the team objectives for your group
- Flexibility to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends
- Current certification in lifeguarding, CPR, and First Aid, or capable of certifying in these within 30 days of hire date
- Must be able to successfully complete a background check
- Must have regular reliable transportation to attend practices at Redmond, Juanita and Strattonwood Pools as well as attend swim meets
