Job Summary
Monitor pool and deck areas to ensure safety for all patrons, observing for accidents and enforcing safety rules and ordinances. Enter the water to rescue persons in trouble, resuscitate swimmers, administer first aid, and call 911 for serious incidents. Maintain discipline by requesting assistance from the Head Lifeguard or Aquatics Director as needed. Report definite or potential hazards and unsafe conditions immediately. Perform assigned clerical and janitorial duties while maintaining a professional appearance and confidentiality. This part-time role supports the district's mission to foster a safe, caring, and creative learning environment.
Required Qualifications
- Effective interpersonal skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Mentally and physically fit
- Sixteen years of age or older
- High School Diploma or GED in English
Desired Qualifications
- Lifeguard experience
- Previous experience working with children
- Prior competitive swimming experience
