Job Summary
Kokua Education is hiring Part-time Substitute Teachers for the Houston area (Spring, TX). Earn up to $144/day (129/day for daily, 144/day for long-term) paid weekly via W-2. You set your schedule, teaching in K-12 schools with opportunities up to 5 days/week, and a path to permanent roles. Responsibilities include classroom management, supervision (lunch/recess/testing), tutoring, and proctoring as needed. Requires at least 1 year of experience with kids, 48+ college credits, ability to manage a classroom, and passing state/federal background checks. Training and support available with a fast interview process and potential for full-time roles in the future.
Required Qualifications
- Have at least 1 year working with kids in any setting (classroom, tutoring, coaching, etc.)
- Completed 48+ college credit hours
- Feel confident managing a classroom of students
- Are willing to step in where needed - this could include lunch/recess supervision, hallway monitoring, tutoring, and proctoring during testing season
- Pass state & federal background checks (costs reimbursed after 10 assignments)
