Job Summary
Part-Time Student - Safety/Engineering for John Deere Dubuque Works in Dubuque, IA. Support safety compliance for the factory, perform audits, update factory programs, communicate changes and drive implementation, assist with Audit Preparation for 3rd Party Audit, database management, and assist with Compliance Training and Job Hazard Analysis. Also contributes to other tasks as assigned. Requires pursuing a degree or related work experience in fields such as Occupational Safety & Health, Industrial Hygiene, Ergonomics, Engineering, Communications, Biology, Business Management, or related areas, with a commitment to on-site work. The role is 12-20 hours per week during the academic year and up to 40 hours per week during the summer; onsite at Dubuque Works, with remote opportunities case-by-case. Relocation assistance is not provided. The program is designed for students and emphasizes safety, compliance, and continuous improvement within the factory environment.
Required Qualifications
- Must be registered as a full-time student at a local accredited university.
- Graduation date of May 2027 or later.
- Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above.
- Available to work 12-20 hours weekly during the academic year.
- Must be able to work on site during scheduled workdays. Remote project work opportunities may arise on a case-by-case basis.
- Must be 18 years of age or older to apply.
- The Part-Time Student Program is designed to augment regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to school schedule YEAR-ROUND.
