Job Summary
Provide friendly, efficient checkout service and stock shelves and displays neatly while following merchandising planograms to maximize sales. Utilize the point-of-sale system to accurately scan purchases, retrieve items for curbside pickup orders, and maintain store zones and merchandising standards. Identify and rectify hazards, ensure proper ergonomics, and adhere to inventory procedures and product handling guidelines. Perform general cleaning tasks and operate equipment such as cash registers, floor scrubbers, and hand jacks. Work varying temperatures including freezer and cooler environments while lifting up to 45 pounds. Arrive at work as early as 5:00am to support store management in achieving operational efficiency and total loss goals. Maintain reliable attendance and meet availability requirements.
Required Qualifications
- At least 18 years old
- Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service
- Ability to operate all store equipment such as cash registers, floor scrubber, cardboard baler, pallet jacks, handheld devices, computers, etc.
- Ability to interpret and apply ALDI operating policies and procedures
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Ability to follow instructions and pay attention to detail
- Ability to work both independently and with others
- Ability to organize, prioritize and complete assigned tasks to maximize productivity within established timeframes
- Ability to maintain reliable and prompt attendance
- Ability to meet availability requirements
- Must be able to arrive to work as early as 5:00am
- Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation
- Required to lift, carry, and place product weighing up to 45 pounds on shelves at various heights, including overhead
- Required to operate equipment such as a cash register, electric and manual hand jacks, floor scrubber and cardboard baler
- Required to stock product in varying temperatures, including freezer and cooler environments
- Required to use glass and multipurpose cleaning products
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior work experience in a retail environment
