Job Summary
Conduct merchandising, stocking, and cashiering duties to maintain store standards and ensure efficient checkout operations. Process customer purchases using the POS system, manage curbside pickup orders, and adhere to cash policies while following line policies to open additional lanes. Perform general cleaning tasks, rectify safety hazards, and maintain store zones and inventory procedures to support operational efficiency goals. Stock shelves according to planograms, operate equipment such as cash registers and floor scrubbers, and lift products up to 45 pounds in varying temperatures. Arrive at work by 5:00 am as required.
Required Qualifications
- At least 18 years old
- Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service
- Ability to operate all store equipment such as cash registers, floor scrubber, cardboard baler, pallet jacks, handheld devices, computers, etc.
- Ability to interpret and apply ALDI operating policies and procedures
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Ability to follow instructions and pay attention to detail
- Ability to work both independently and with others
- Ability to organize, prioritize and complete assigned tasks to maximize productivity within established timeframes
- Ability to maintain reliable and prompt attendance
- Ability to meet availability requirements
- Must be able to arrive to work as early as 5:00am
- Must be able to lift, carry, and place product weighing up to 45 pounds on shelves at various heights, including overhead
- Required to push, pull, sit, stand, reach, grasp, twist, bend, and move from one area to another
- Required to operate equipment such as a cash register, electric and manual hand jacks, floor scrubber and cardboard baler
- Required to stock product in varying temperatures, including freezer and cooler environments
- Required to use glass and multipurpose cleaning products
- Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior work experience in a retail environment
